このProphecy Exturaはギブソンのエキスプローラーを基に、ウエスト部分を伝説のFutura(フューチュラ)をかけ合わせ、突起部をさらに鋭角にしたモデルだ。かけ合わせではあるが、ギブソン・ブランドにとっては久しぶりの新シェイプとなる。

ボディはマホガニー、トップにはAAAのフレイム・メイプル(合板)。ネックはマホガニーで左右非対称のスリムテーパー・グリップ。24フレット、指板はエボニー。ネックの接合はセットネックで、ヒール部分はコンタード・ヒールとなっている。
ピックアップはこのシリーズのためにカスタマイズされたFishman Fluence Proprietaryで、1V1T。ノブのプッシュ/プルでPUのボイシングが変更できる。
